Built of native stone in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Canyon Gallery sits near the rim of Palo Duro Canyon, where large windows frame sweeping views of the canyon below. Inside, visitors can explore exhibits highlighting the canyon’s geology, wildlife, archaeology, and cultural history, along with historical video presentations that help bring the story of the region to life.
The gallery also features a thoughtfully curated selection of Southwest art and regional crafts, including handmade Native American pottery, Navajo, Zuni, and Santo Domingo silver and turquoise jewelry, handcrafted knives, and unique items inspired by the heritage and traditions of the Texas Panhandle.
