Course
99% dirt trails on floor of Palo Duro Canyon State Park.
50 mile: Four 12.5 mile loops
50K: One 6 mile loop & two 12.5 mile loops
20K: One 12.5 mile loop
No pets allowed on course or at start finish area.
Location
Start-finish in Juniper Picnic area approximately 6 miles in State Park from Park entrance gate. Palo Duro State Park is located approximately 25 miles South of Amarillo. From Amarillo, take I-27 south. Exit State Hwy. 217 (exit #106) Turn East (left). This will take you directly to park entrance. There will be Texas State Park entrance fee. Driving time from Amarillo to start area is approximately 45 minutes. Please allow plenty of time to arrive safely.
Entry Fee
$60 for 50 mile and 50K - $45 for 20K if postmarked by October 6 add $15 thereafter. Confirmation and further information will be sent to all entrants. Make checks payable to Bill Ross. (see address below) Fees includes T shirt to all starters. Also, post race hamburger cookout with beans, chips, and soft drinks, etc., free to all runners and guests. Pre race pasta meal free to runners. Add $12.00 per guest. No race day registration. Limit 200 in 20K, no limit in 50M or 50K.
Awards
Awards to all finishers in the 50 mile, 50K & 20K. Special Awards for 50M & 50K, 1st, 2nd & 3rd male and female. New for 2007 Masters Division(50+) 1st, 2nd & 3rd male and female.
Aid
Four well stocked aid stations. Water, Gatorade, Coke and a wide variety of food and snacks. Water bottle recommended. Easy crew access, but handler not needed.
Weather
Unpredictable. Come prepared. Temperatures can range from below freezing to mid 90s.

Pre Race
Pre race pasta meal, race day info and packet pickup at W.T.A.M. University Student Dining Hall, alumni banquet facility. Race information, pasta dinner and packet pickup are Friday, October 19, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at the banquet facility located at the corner of Russell Long Blvd and 26th Street, Canyon, TX.
